Momma Baby Clinic Program

This exciting program provides preventative oral health education and early intervention strategies and skills to pregnant mothers and mothers of infants and young children. Providing education and knowledge early is crucial in prevention of oral disease and infant oral mutilation which is prevalent in this area. Culturally responsive educational materials have been custom developed for this program and we are delighted to see the curiosity and positive response to the education and services provided. Mothers are encouraged to bring their young child to the Maasai Dental Clinic where our trained educator provides assessment, prevention education, and dietary counselling. Oral health events are also offered each year at local community health clinics where we offer education and services in surrounding communities. Successful implementation of this program is seeing hundreds of mothers educated yearly.
